    Less than 1,600 hours experience -Train the painter Trainee Protective Coating ApplicatorID card and e-Certificate valid for 5 years.

    Train the painter is a CSCS partner card scheme member. All TTP ID cards are official CSCS skills cards featuring the CSCS hologram. ID cards can be verified on the CSCS Smart card checker App.

First Aid: Basic First Aid Responder

  • What is SP-230801 Basic Emergency First Aid Responder?

    This Skills Programme is for persons required to assess the emergency and providing Basic Life Support and Basic First Aid in order to stabilise patients prior to transfer to the emergency services.

  • People credited with this unit standard are able to:

    1. Demonstrate an understanding of emergency scene management

    2. Demonstrate an understanding of elementary anatomy and physiology

    3. Assess an emergency situation

    4. Apply First Aid procedures to the life-threatening situation

    5. Treat common injuries

    This course is for people that require QTO/NQF credits for the company’s Skills Development Levy, or for learners that require QCTO/NQF credits to go towards a bigger qualification/Skills Programme.

  • There are no absolute prerequisites for this course, however, the following learning is assumed to be in place:

    • Communication at ABET level 3

    • Mathematical Literacy at ABET level 3

First Aid: Intermediate Emergency First Aid Responder

  • What is SP-230802 – Intermediate Emergency First Aid Responder?

    This course is for professionals currently employed, that need to attend a First Aid Course and require more skills and knowledge than what is found in the Basic Emergency First Aid Responder Course.

  • This course requires QCTO/NQF credits for the company’s Skills Development Levy, or for learners that require QCTO/NQF credits to go towards a bigger qualification/Skills Programme.

  • Learners need to be in possession of a valid QCTO SP-230801 – Basic Emergency First Aid Responder certificate.

First Aid: Advanced Emergency First Aid Responder

  • What is SP-230803 – Advanced Emergency First Aid Responder?

    The first aid NQF level 3 course is an advanced first aid course and it, therefore, is longer in duration on both facilitation and on-the-job workplace practical requirements. The first aid training is at a more advanced level and focuses on priority treatment topics such as primary and secondary surveys and bleeding control management, etc.

    NB: The certificate of competence associated with this Skills Programme will be valid for only three years to ensure the holder’s continued competency through regular re-assessment.

  • This course is for professionals currently employed, that respond to emergencies regularly for work (firemen, police, security) or people that are part of Community Response Teams (CPF etc.), where they require QCTO/NQF credits for the company’s Skills Development Levy, or for learners that require QCTONQF credits to go towards a bigger qualification/ Skills Programme.

  • Learners need to be in possession of a valid Skills Programme:

    1. SP-230802 – Intermediate Emergency First Aid Responder

    2. Communication at NQF Level 2.

    3. Mathematical literacy at NQF Level 2.

FIRE FIGHTING

  • Learners are taught basic firefighting techniques and how to apply them in a safe and correct manner. This course is aimed at preventing fires, creating a prepared environment, and building confidence when faced with an unexpected fire emergency.

  • Duration:

    1 Day (Theory and Practical Exposure)

    IRT Training Entry Requirements:

    NQF level 1 communication (language) and mathematics (numeracy skills) and Communication competence.
